Coronavirus Update April 2
Hi Watershed Family,
I just want to give you a quick update on what the month ahead looks like here at Watershed. As most of you know by now, our governor has extended the shelter in place order through the end of April, which means for the next four weeks we will be having online only gatherings for any services or small groups. We will continue to BE the church even as we navigate these times and believe for an end to COVID-19. Let’s continually go before the Lord and ask Him what He wants to produce in us and in our church during this time. Here are a few important notes about the next couple weeks:
- Easter Sunday will of course look different this year as we celebrate in our homes but we can, will and MUST celebrate the most important day in history, the resurrection of our Savior! In addition to streaming Easter Service online we want to help you celebrate at home by providing a Watershed Easter at Home box. This box will continue a few interactive elements that will go along with our online service, as well as communion elements we’ll take together and for families with kids it will include materials for your own Easter egg hunt at home as well as a craft and other Easter activities. You’ll be able to pick up a box at select times at the church next week or we can arrange to deliver one to you. Boxes will be customized for each family, so please reserve yours here.
- This coming Tuesday, April 7th we’re calling a church-wide day of prayer, fasting and repentance. We’ll be sending out more details about this but we’ll conclude the day with a Zoom prayer meeting at 7PM and provide a link for all who would like to join us for corporate prayer.
- Food for Greater Elgin is still in need of volunteers for the month of April. You can sign up directly with them here and pick the shift(s) you’re able to serve.
- Many of you have asked about helping during this time of great need, so we’ve set up a COVID-19 response fund on our giving page. All funds designated here will go directly to help those in our church or in our community affected by COVID-19. You can give to that fund directly here: https://mywatershed.churchcenter.com/giving/to/covid-19-response-fund
Let’s continue to stay connected and engaged like never before. If you’re in need of anything at all or know someone who is, please reach out to us via phone/text (224-325-5560) or social media.
